Filming Day Three

Back at StoneX stadium! This time for interviews with Marlie Packer and Zoe Harrison.

Again I brought my filming equipment, went through security and picked up my media wristband. I knew my way around everything a bit better this time having done it the weekend before.

Saracens played Loughborough Lightning, and I took some pictures from the press seats of the game trying to get specific ones of Marlie and Zoe to go with their interviews.

Just before the end of the match I went into the media room to set up my AC-90 kit ready for my interviews.

After a little while Zoe Harrison came for her interview that I had set up with Head of media for Saracens women’s team Harry Scott-Munro. She’d played very well and had cuts on her hands from playing. She gave me some great information on being a Red Rose. She debuted on the exact same date as Ellie Kildunne so they both represented this new era of Red Rose.

After Zoe it was onto the legend herself Marlie Packer, Captain of the Red Roses. Shew debuted in 2008 so had lots to tell me about the evolution of the Red Roses. The main thing that stuck out about her interview was that she explained that her first cap had a crowd of about a hundred people and a couple of Portaloos. Compared to the tens of thousands that you see at big games now it seems shocking.

Not only was Marlie so interesting and helpful to interview she was also absolutely hilarious. When I asked her about what she would be doing right now if she wasn’t playing rugby, she was quick to joke about “being on the beers” as “party packer” cracking up the room full of journalists behind me. She was so kind and chatty and just an excellent interviewee.

Overall it was a super successful day and I’m so pleased with how it all went!
